In this section, we'll address the opening prayer for your service.
Generally speaking this is a short prayer to keep families happy
It's be our experience that most couple have someone in the family who is very religious
and they don't want to offend them by omitting this element from thier service. Below you'll
find some simple and quick prayers that I've used over the years of performing weddings.

OPENING PRAYER:

Moment of Silence:

We now ask for a moment of silence to think of and remember those in our hearts who cannot or could not be with us today.   .

 

Father we ask that you bless this couple and this union today.
Guide them in all that they do as a couple.
Strengthen them in times of weakness and encourage them in times of fear.
Be a light unto their feet Lord, as they walk your path of love from this day forth.

This we pray in your name. Amen.

Father we ask that you bless this couple and this union today.

Let us Pray:

Heavenly Father, we ask that you bless this couple who now stands before you with your love and guidance in the days and months to come as they embark upon this new live together.  May they always find forgiveness and understanding to withstand the adversities of life This we pray in your name Amen.

OUR FATHER – sung OR read aloud

It is our prayer that your hearts will be molded together this day with God's seal of approval.

May your marriage be such that all will know that you not only have a deep and abiding love

 for each other but for God as well.

Heavenly Father, we ask your blessing this day for this couple who now stands before us on this their wedding day.  Bless them Father, and this union.  Father Make their home a home of laughter, and joy as they now join together to create this new family together.  Bless this child Lord, and send your angels to continually watch over him.

Heavenly Father, we have gathered here in your presence and ask that you and all the angles in heaven join with us as we join this man and this woman in Holy matrimony. Let us all be mindful to remember that this holy relationship is not one to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly but with reverence and with dignity. 

 Father, let those present today renew their own commitments to their partners, and to you this day, encourage those here today to rekindle the love that is true in their own hearts.
